St Gilles-Croix-De-Vie to la Tranche-sur-Mer

We thought St Gilles was lack luster well hello la Tranche (and yes it is a small 'L') we've been through mobile home parks with no end, marshes, 90km mostly on sandy tracks, marshes, Portugal, marshes and did I mention the marais, more about that later. We thought we were toting on the miles sorry kilometres but suddenly Portugal appeared complete with little multicoloured Spanish villas and golf courses. Come on wake up France this is crap.
We came to la Tranche to get the ferry to Ile de Re only to find we were too early, in fact ~2 months early, so it's a night in la Tranche.
We are struggling to come up with a description to let you understand this resort. While I think about that, I'll tell you about the Hotel de L'Atlantique. Imagine DIY SOS, green cord carpet walls and Ian having to sit with his legs in the bedroom when he's on the loo. No to be fair it's worse than that, and some poor buggers book in on full board for 2 weeks!!!!!!!! I've just realise the door has cord carpet as well. But it is quiet (we have to lock up when we go tomorrow), central, cheap, and only for one night.
Ian's just said that tomorrow is a 'bit challenging' I thought we had both just agreed in the bar that today was challenging. We'll see.
Back to la Tranche it's a bit like a melange of a bad Welsh seaside resort/Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppy, and Trowbridge in the sun. And yes it's full of Brits.
So it's out for a spot of the finest food la Tranche can offer and the sun is still shining.
For those who are interested we've done 581km so far from Bath.
