I'm not quite sure what to say, but we did it. We reached Barcelona exhausted after doing another 100+km day with a total distance from Bath to Barcelona, for all you people tacking part in the sweepstake (none), of 1654 km just over 1000 miles.
What a day:
Rule No 1 - Don't come cycling in Spain.
Rule No 2 - No rule 2
Seriously cycling does not come on the Spanish agenda apart from in the big cities. We were cracking down the N11 today feeling tired from our post Pyrenee day when in the middle of nowhere the road turned into a motorway with a sign indicating no cycles, horses etc. We then had to set off across country in totally the wrong direction. This is the only real route from the boarder to Barcelona. We rejoined the route miles later to find them happily making more motorways. In a year or so it will be virtually impossible to cycle on a reasonably direct route.
For those of you interested in the prostitute story there were plenty more today and the cost of an average pair of shoes is about €40-50.
I forgot to mention yesterday that we may have been on Spanish TV. There was industrial action at the boarder areas with roads closed to freight and 100's or lorries stranded. Traffic was not being allowed on the roads, we turned up on our bikes and were allowed through. We gave the protesters, who had barricaded the roads the thumbs up. They all cheered and honked their horns etc as we went through the blockade this was all being filmed by Spanish TV.
We are both exhausted so it's no great celebration just an early night and no cycling tomorrow!!!!!!
For those who are interested there will be some trip statistics tomorrow.
Photo's of Ian and I celebrating our arrival in Barcelona in prominent tourist locations. No idea what they are, we've only just arrived.

Well done both of you. Looking forward to tomorrow's pictures and storyline.
Have a drink on me.

Re: sightseeing. I'm sure you must know about all the amazing Gaudi architecture in Barcelona but an absolute must see is the Sagrada Famiglia. It has been under construction for over 100 years, is still only about half built and is one of the most incredible structures I have ever seen x
Well done! That's quite an achievement. I hope you can have a few relaxing days in Barcelona before your train journey home.
