We've hopefully sorted out the train trip back. Barcelona to Paris overnight tonight with bikes in our coche, see photo. Then Eurostar to London tomorrow, depending on SNCF strike.
We decided not to spend long in Barcelona we are in tourist/locational overload. So many places in a short time. I/we would rather return to Barcelona and have a good look at a future date. Photo of Ian in an excellent cafe.
TRIP STASTISTICS
Total Distance - 1656 kilometres
Average Speed - 17.3 kph
Max Speed - 52.6 kph
Number of days/part days cycling - 21 days
Actual time spent cycling - 95.76 hours
THE BEST & THE WORST
WORST HOTEL - Hotel de L'Atlantic, la Tranche-Sur-Mer (you had to have your feet in the bedroom when sat on the toilet in the bathroom and the green cord carpet wall covering.)
BEST HOTEL - Bellmirall, Girona (Very eclectic, in a medieval setting)
WORST TOWN - Villefranche de Lauragais. (Just grim, sorry to the Brits who I offended who have a house there. This comes joint winner with Grisnolles sur Plage. Why build on stilts? Does it flood?)
BEST TOWN - La Rochelle (Just great)
MOST SUPRISINGLY GOOD TOWN - Girona (Appalling suburbs with a great Medieval City)
MOST ODD WAITER - breakfast waiter Hotel de France Hotel, Villefranche de Lauragais (a semi hunch back with no sense of personal space and over attentive at breakfast)
BEST WAITRESSES - L'Oasis Hotel Narbonne Plage (Great figures, you have to be male, well you don't have to be)
BEST CYCLE PROVISION - Bordeaux
WORST HILL - The Pyrenee
BEST MEAL - Le Pavllion Hotel, Margaux (and it also wins best bike store, see blog)
BEST BUILDING SITE - Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
WORST PILCHARD PIZZA............ No, no more. (Yes I did have one)

See you guys soon I guess and you will be back for the Boules too.
Going to be boring without "frag-mented" so think you'd better work out your next trip soon.
Mike
Wow Home today!! I'd better tidy the house up quickly and get all the lodgers out. I wasn't expecting you 'til next week! Looking forward to seeing you very soon!! lots of love m xxx
Bugger, I just did a wonderfully funny piece all about people who wear lycra cycling kit but google didn't accept it because I wasn't a blogger. It sounds like you had a lot of fun on your trip, it's a shame you didn't go all the way through to Benidorm, afterall you started at one end of the scale you could have slid nicely down to the other. And talking of dregs, we are going to invade you in September for our bi-decadel visit. We promise to try and behave ourselves but if I'm honest it is a lost cause. Look forward to seeing you both. Adios amigos, Dave & Ann Leigh-Ewers
