Moissac to Villefranche-de-Lauragais

We are speechless.
Yes, this really is a three legged lame donkey town. We are staying at the best (only) hotel. It offers hotel, restaurant with fine dining, bar, snooker, table football, live sports coverage, terrace and function rooms, sorry plus garage facilities for velo's and cars, it is THE place in town on a Friday night. (For 'the' read the word 'only'.) Salamander eat your heart out you can not compete, you only offer a bar. Just a minute I was distracted the Samander is good and this is merde.
It's interesting to note that the menu in the restaurant is not in Russian, otherwise its a dead ringer for Corcheval..
Seriously you all obviously feel Ian and I are swanning round France staying in Mr & Mrs Smith Boutique hotels with gourmet meals. You could not be further from the truth. We've stayed at some shit hotels and had many awfull meals. The problem we have is that we have to pitch our cycling distance to end up in a town with a chance of a hotel. Then we have to take the hotel and restaurant on offer. We are talking rural France here and it's bit like Wales - no actually worse.. Sorry Wales.
When this trip is over, no more crap hotels!!
Speaking of being stuck with no options, where is our Porcsh Cayenne powered back up team when we need them?

On the good side the route today beside the Canal du Midi has been great. Great views, great running surface (most of the time) with cathedral like trees over the canal and a tapestry of sunlight. Must tell you about the boat lift system we came across, but as they say more of that lat........

I should tell you about last night's chef (see pic) he was so cool. He would sit at his laptop then pop up to flash fry some meat before resuming at the screen. Was he trading futures? Or was it porn?

Why do the guys in this kind of town have a uniform of wife beaters.
